Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee
The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (DEIC) is a Faculty Handbook Committee that advises the president on matters pertaining to diversity, equity, and inclusion at Loyola.
Faculty representatives from each of the colleges and library, representatives of the Student Government Association, and staff and administrators representing Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, the Women's Resource Center, and the Office for Accessible Education develop and recommend programming, curriculum enhancements, and other university-wide initiatives.
To encourage and support programming on diversity issues, the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee awards Strength in Diversity mini-grants on a rolling basis throughout the academic year. Student organizations, faculty, and staff may apply.
All proposals must:
- Address one or more of the following dimensions of diversity: age, class, culture, disability, ethnicity, gender identity, national origin, race, religion, and sexual orientation.
- Promote the understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion on the academic experience and/or community life of Loyola University.
